1 mentions“My app strategy is to get a bunch of reviews as fast as possible and there are several ways I'm trying to do that. Important context is that I choose an app category on Shopify that's quite large so there's a lot of people looking (and paying) for affiliate marketing apps. That means that there's a lot of money to be made but it also means it's a VERY competitive category. There's a ton of people searching for "affiliate marketing" and it's related keywords, the way to show up at the top is to get a ton of reviews. But to give you an idea of how competitive it is, UpPromote (the top app) gets 4-7 reviews every single day. But they also get the lions share of the installs and are probably making well over a million dollars a month. So to beat them I need to get more reviews faster than them. But they take reviews seriously so I need to just be better than them. How do I plan to do that? Well it helps that my app is free right now but I want to add a paid plan eventually so that won't work forever. But in the meantime, I have a very good system for getting reviews. I'd be surprised if any other app has a better reviews per install rate. I'm not gonna give up my system here but it's pretty easy to find for those who care to look. I also think my app is the best all around and even with the paid plan it's gonna be cheaper than Uppromote (and not charge commission becasue that's super annoying). Anyways, I think getting rank 1 is a major long shot but possible. And it's definitely worth it because there's millions of dollars to be made if I get there. This is the plan.
